Traditionally, it meant a message from the people to enact change, based on an overwhelming victory in an election.

State Mandated Anti-Gun Slop

Media clearly made by Hollywood or some other big budget execs pushing democrat talking points, usually against guns. Example being most cop shows, where officers are portrayed as the only ones competent with guns and civilians with guns are portrayed as trigger-happy gun nuts.
