The guilty parent will tell the child that to ward off negative effects of the full moon, they had to leave waste in the toilet as a sacrifice, and the kids must clean it up. This superstition is usually shared among the most uneducated population of India, and the children who were victims of the excuse often believe it and carry it into adulthood when they don't flush.
