Armed Civilian- I knew if I said I shot that no good, thieving, bluegum nigger for being in the wrong place at the right time on TV that I would get beat up or possibly killed (or stabbed in such a way that it wasn't fatal) as soon as I got back to my jail cell so I said I thought he was robbing the empty house at the construction site down the street and planned on breaking down and crying nstead, that seemed like a smarter, more humane thing to do to me (even though my humane side wasn't there with me that day, my racist alter ego was the only one home).

I usually get an equally-smart-alecky reply from them, as well, such as, "Oh, we know that, but we wanna be more subtle about our entry!", or "Yeah, we could, but this way is more fun!"
