Henry Ford didn't mind having people launch acridly-critical adversetisements about him, he viewed those rants as just another way of spreading the word about his company and its merchandise --- "I don't care what you say about me --- just keep talking!"

I always just write "REFUSED --- RETURN TO SENDER" on any ecclesiastical ephemera I receive, to hopefully avoid any future problems with attempts at ad-verse possession.
