homophobe

1. n. scientific term for someone who is afraid of homosexuality to the extent of feeling it necessary to insult, verbally or physically abuse, or otherwise berate any homosexual they come into contact with.
2. n. one who falls under the aforementioned category, but resents the term homophobe although they are quite comfortable using terms such as "gay", "fag", or "queer" which are all (yes, all of them) derogatory terms.

Homophobe 1: "Why are those gays always trying to make us feel bad for not giving them equal rights?"
Homophobe 2: "I dunno. I guess they think they're just as much human as we are... Fags..."
