The Jason-Streisand Effect

A Hyperbolic, yet sadly real, escalation of the original Streisand Effect, where relentless and disproportionate attempts to suppress, deny, or draw attention to a trivial or non-issue that not only fails but catastrophically backfires. Repeatedly.

Key components include:
1) Compounding Backfire
2) Self-Destructive Persistence
3) Total Reputation Collapse
4) Terminal Irony

1) Compounding Backfire-

Unlike the classic Streisand Effect where suppression attempts once amplify attention, the Jason-Streisand Effect involves multiple rounds of doubling (or sextupling) down, each time worsening the backlash exponentially.

2) Self-Destructive Persistence-
The Streisand-er refuses to course-correct, despite pleas and obvious chances to do so, instead escalating their efforts (Legal threats, Public denials, or aggressive PR moves) despite clear signs of mounting damage.

3) Total Reputation Collapse-

What started as a minor issue or even a misunderstanding or mistake snowballs into universal condemnation, turning even neutral observers into detractors.

4) Terminal Irony-
The harder the Streisand-er fights, the more absurd and meme-worthy their efforts become, fueling further ridicule and scrutiny.
Person 1: "What's going on with the Pirate Software Drama?"

Person 2: "After getting caught lying about his raid skills, Pirate Software pulled The Jason-Streisand Effect —deleting VODs, blaming his party, gaslighting his fanbase, and ranting on stream until even his fans called him a fraud."

The Sanjaya Effect

Any instance when internet chat rooms or subreddit groups rouse a significant number of anonymous individuals to support a cause or an individual with the aim of exercising the group's bandwidth to hi-jack or manipulate things in the real world,

The Sanjaya effect is named after its first well-known publicized occurrence in 2006 when a Reddit group of mostly young males decided to hi-jack American Idol's voting systems to push a mediocre singer, Sanjaya Malakar, into the final competition. When he had consistently disappointed the judges for weeks on end, and still made it into the final competition with the last two other singers, the judges decided they had to take voting back into their own hands to stop the internet trolls from ruining the whole sixth season's final competition.

"The Sanjaya Effect" is now an easy way to explain what might appear as ludicrous events that may seem to occur with little reason but when taking into account the ease by which the internet allows individuals to anonymously conspire together to form large cohorts that bring about change in the real world with social media and manipulation of voting systems, it is now par for the course that such internet groups exist and always will exist.
Examples of the Sanjaya Effect are plentiful, including TV Shows like American Idol, season 6 in 2006, or stock prices (e.g. the 2021 Game Stop Frenzy), or cryptocurrency prices (e.g. The DogeCoin Pump Scheme, followed by Shibu Inu and Floki Inu pump and dump internet conspiracies in succession)

Sunday morning effect

The phenomenon where feature films based on TV series / Netflix web series are perceived as higher quality than feature films that give birth to TV series / Netflix web series, especially among children and teenagers who have been conditioned by the high production values of Sunday morning cartoons being adapted into feature films.
Everyone thinks that movie adaptation of the web series is a masterpiece, but it's just the Sunday morning effect working well!

The Jj effect

The Jj effect (it will be studied for millennia) is a beautifully complex effect. An incredible outplay? The Jj effect is present. An awful int play? The Jj effect is present. A pointless solo shatter? The Jj effect is present.
No one truly knows what the Jj effect entails, and it's true meaning is yet to be discovered (hence it shall continue to be studied for millennia to come).
