A failure ( or fail ) so disastrous that it achieves the total reverse of what was originally planned because the effect of an action has become so dissociated from the intent behind it.
A reference to the Clint Eastwood movie 'The Eiger Sanction', in which Clint, an assassin, is so convinced his target is a member of a teem of mountaineers climbing the Eiger - he just doesn't know which one. So he murders all of them just to make bloody sure - then finds out he was wrong all along, like a moron, because it's been obvious as hell all along who the real bad guy is.

A situation in which a person has failed but it takes them a really long time to realize why they failed.
Guy: "Ahahahaha"
Girl: "What did I do wrong?"
Guy: "Wow, you're really slow aren't you? You're a Fail Snail!"

A license fail occurs when someone taking what should be their first driving practical test prepares thoroughly with expensive lessons, has been waiting for months, is supremely confident of their ability to pass, and has even discussed getting insured for their parent's car upon passing...
...Only to discover that, in the test center waiting room, they have the wrong side of their paper provisional license, meaning they cannot be tested, waste the money spent on taking the test, disappoint family and friends and have to wait 3 months for the next available test.
Also known as "pulling a Charlie".

Guy 1- Holy fuck, you know what's worse than failing your driving test?
Guy 2- Nah, what...?
Guy 1- committing epic license fail, that's what *shudders*

To fail at something you prepared for, and you can never get it right. Or, simply to fail at anything and everything.

A term used in the game World of Warcraft to describe a Death Knight, since there are so many of them that suck people write them off as being complete failures. You are bound to come across one that sucks.
Fail Knights are popular because they have the advantage of starting at level 55.
