li'l friend

A shady, dismissive way to refer to someone's spouse or long-term partner, usually the second acquired after divorce or the death of the first, when you don't claim them, don't respect them, and know they're only tolerated because of their more powerful partner. It implies they're irrelevant without their spouse and temporary, and will disappear the moment their spouse dies or comes to their sense. You never refer to them as the "husband", "wife," or "partner", because they never earned their place. They will always be their little friend and will be referenced as such in the obituary.
You can put a crown Camilla Parker Bowles everyday of the week but she will be Pawpaw's, King Charles' li'l friend. I don"t care what her royal stationery says.

Step stool friend

someone who is there when you need to be lifted up emotionally/socially and then when you’re done, you discard them like you never needed them in the first place or they discard themselves.
my old friend Nate was a step stool friend, he was there during one of my darkest times but after that we just fell out of touch

The Boys Friend Group

Members of the group:
The short fucker
The tall fucker
The yn

The sped shitdick
The smart nerdy one
The racist guy who has committed multiple hate crimes

The immigrant who doesn’t speak English but his actions always make up for it (also used for his big booty latina sister)
The “straight” guy
Overall, the boys friend group has many personalities. Some good, some bad, but all united as one. If you ever spot the boys friend group walking around, stay far, far away, because it is more than likely one of them will try to tickle you.
Person 1: “What’s the boys friend group”
Person 2: “You don’t want to know”

National Ragebait Your Friend Day

5th April, The day of National Ragebait Your Friend Day, in this day, you may rage your friend until they steam up and get angry at you! Angry means your ragebait mission has been successful! Bait your friends into raging.
You: “Your favorite movie is terrible and I only acted like I liked it Friends Name!”
Friend: “Hey! That’s rude!”
You: “Haha! It’s National Ragebait Your Friend Day! I’ve ragebaited you!”

High-maintenance friend

A high-maintenance friend is someone who needs intense, consistent time, emotional energy, and attention often. They frequently require constant reassurance, emotional support, and a safe space to be clingy. They need validation, immediate responsiveness, and priority status in your schedule. These people are not for those who cannot keep up, or give them that emotional contribution.
"I need a lot of attention because of my abandonment issues. I'm a high-maintenance friend"

Long Lost Friend

This comes from a 2022 tweet and now copypasta “Timothee Chalamet, it seems l've grown quite fond of you, tho there are no sexual urges or desires, you come to me as a long lost friend whom I once picked apples with in papa's orchard.”

The phrase refers to a sense of deep, knowing connection despite not actually knowing the person. Because of this, some young LGBTQ+ people have started using the phrase “you come to me like a long lost friend” as a euphemism for recognizing someone may be queer. Similar, but maybe less dated, version of “Friend of Dorothy.”
Person 1: “You come to me like a long lost friend.”
Person 2: “Bitch— just say gay.”

The Second Place Friend

The Second/2nd Place Friend: Noun/Phrase

The second place friend is the person who is always “less” than their best friend or friend group. They may be less accomplished, come from a broken home, less well off, not as good of an academic performance, less noticed, or as they would put it less loved or less important.

You will often find that these are the disordered, minority, or more ill counterpart to the other person/people.

An example may be growing up with a best friend while being academically challenged, your friend will be ahead of you or more praised. If this situation continues on for your whole friendship you may just be a second place friend. This dynamic is often emotionally draining or even, occasionally, dangerous.

Though this does not necessarily mean you will be a second choice friend, it often results in you becoming one. It can feel like your friend(s) has everything while you have nothing.

If this is indeed your dynamic, a therapist might just be a good choice to look into.
“I think I’m broken…. I think I might have always been the second place friend.”
