The Wire

"The Wire" is a one-hour HBO drama set and produced in Baltimore Maryland. It was created, produced, and primarily written by David Simon. Each season details a different aspect of the city: drug trade, the port, city government, school system, and the media/newspaper. The show is recognized for its realistic portrayal of urban life, artistic ambitions, and uncommonly deep exploration of sociological themes. It has frequently been cited by critics as one of the greatest television series of all time.
Did you catch the new episode of The Wire last night? Nah man, don't you dare tell me what happened cause I recorded it.

The weird part of youtube

The section of Youtube that consists of the odd videos that are submitted. Normally reached by consistently clicking on "Suggestions" or "Recommended Videos."
How did I end up in the weird part of Youtube?

throw to the wolves

To put someone, who is usually inexperienced, into a very difficult and extremely high-pressure situation where there is a high chance of failure.
Throw to the wolves: An example would be making an 18-year-old kid who has never pitched in the Major Leagues, take the mound against the New York Yankees in Yankee Stadium in game 7 of the World Series, with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 9th with the Yankees down by one. Oh yeah, and Alex Rodriguez is at the plate. Have fun, kiddo, you've been thrown to the wolves.

Woke up on the wrong side of the bed

Alt: Got up on the wrong side of the bed. (Past Tense)
An expression that is typically used to describe a grumpy or irritable person, especially when the reason for their unhappiness is unknown.

It can also be used to describe when somebody wakes up in a bad mood which then lasts all day, possibly because they didn't get enough sleep or had an unpleasant dream the night before.

The phrase dates back to Ancient Rome, where it was considered bad luck to get out of bed from the left side, which itself originated in a very old superstition saying that everything related to the left-hand side was inherently unlucky. The modern English expression reflects that myth with a tongue-in-cheek play on words, suggesting that a grouchy person must have gotten out of bed on the "wrong" side, as opposed to the "right" side.
"What's with Wendy? She seems annoyed about something."
"I don't know, maybe she got up on the wrong side of the bed today."

"You're acting like real jerk!"
"Sorry, I just woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. I'm in a bad mood, but it's not your fault."
