Refers to the way in which people view themselves and their worth.
Low self-esteem is a common symptom of depression. Signs include shyness, anxiety about appearance or competence, feelings of worthlessness and unnecessary guilt or shame.

Male friend: You were looking so good in your booty shorts at the gym that I had to put sweatpants on to hide my boner!
Female friend: Stop, you're making me blush! But real talk thank you because you know I have no self-esteem.
