A girl or woman from China who pursues romance and marriage solely for personal financial benefits and not for love. Shanghainese are perhaps the most crass about this practice, although it obviously exists elsewhere too.

When you see a beautiful model with a short, balding, pudgy man, you know you have found a Shanghai girl.
