A place that doesn't like incorrect behavior.

Dewey Cox wanted to write authentic sounding songs about jail, but didn't want to be there with the guys in jail, especially not over cutting his brother in half. He might be inspired by someone or something he never thought he would get inspired by, and yet he wanted to cheat himself out of an oppurtunity like that.

When Apple charges your card but the card has no funds or is locked, so they put you on probation where you cannot download, update, or reinstall apps until you pay them the money.

Jail Job

An occupation with little or no flexibility in its schedule - typically a 9-5 Mon-Fri gig and which your presence is required in one general location (office, factory etc.) throughout the entire shift.

I used to work at that jail job at the bank until my side hustle started earning me some serious coin..now I can from home or anywhere..even at the beach!

confining yourself to the library or another university campus building in order to get studying done without distraction. First used by students at University of Idaho in 2024.

I didn't study all weekend, so I'm in library jail for the rest of the week.
