Carroting

The act of putting expensive fruit and vegetable items through the self service checkout as cheaper ones. For example, one might put through a mango as a carrot or an avocado as a potato and save a few dollars.

The price of avocados at the moment is ridiculous. The only way I can afford them is by carroting.

That one really annoying minigame from the RPG Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story where Bowser is tasked to eat a giant carrot in exchange for a Banzai Bill. Many players got stuck at this minigame and never got to experience the full game. Childhood trauma was induced.
