X varies on the mph of the vehicle and the risk-tolerance of the driver. A feeling of relaxation often accompanies passing the event horizon of a traffic light, in particular when in a rush or for known long red lights.

I thought for sure we were already passed the traffic light event horizon, but Becky slammed on the breaks when the light turned yellow and my blue coconut slush fell and spilled all over the floormat or her Hyundai Elantra.
