Usually in a comedy situation with two people, one is the "straight man". He sets up the funny guy with a "straight line" -- a statement which allows the funny guy to make a joke. Therefore a straight line is really a "set up" for a joke.

Bottom Feeder

A person of relative affluence who has achieved little on his own, and is only where he is because of the advantages that his family pampered him with. While this at times can be okay, the bottom feeder fails to acknowledge this fact due to an emotionally abusive childhood, and maintains an obtuse arrogance and indifference towards everyone around him who has to work for a living.

Frank is such a bottom feeder. Had he grown up on the mean streets of Detroit he'd be such a crackhead for his herd mentality and immaturity.
