Shack or Shiver

When someone goes out to clubs/bars without a planned place to sleep at night. The goal is to find someone to hook up with to "shack up" with for the night. If you can't find someone, you end up sleeping outside and "shivering".
Part of the challenge is the decrease in standards as the night goes on, in desperation of a place to sleep.

Joe did "Shack or Shiver" in the city and ended up sleeping on the bench outside.

An unexpected sleepover at someone else's place. Sex may or may not happen. The term shacking does not apply to staying the night expectedly, when you have your own change of clothes and a toothbrush. A shack often involves borrowing or stealing the guy's clothes for the walk of shame the morning after, thus the term "shacker outfit."
