when a person apologizes to another, but is really just blaming the person.

I wanted to say I was sorry, but I could only manage a blameology.

customer: I wish I had been told my product was ready for pick-up two weeks ago.

sales clerk: I am sorry you didn't call to check on the order's status. We have been looking at it for a month.

In the event of a pandemic, some governments are slow to react, they implement a partial lockdowns (i.e. you can still exercise), the public continues to spread an infection, the government then blames the public for spreading it to cover up for their slow response.

A form of shifting blame by taking part of the blame and then shifting the main part of the blame ro another even though your completly at fault.

Example : a teen is caught with booze, takes part of the blame and then shifts the main part of ot to his friends.
