Word also used in popular video game League of Legends. Player may get Shot callers "status" in team if he makes good strategic decisions, based on actions opposite team does.

Possible chatlog:
(Renekton): Jungle and top are at the top-line and top's tele is down. Let's rush Dragon! (This line is shot caller's line and he just read the situation and made a suggestion for the rest of the team.)
(Caitlyn): On the way.
(Rek Sai): I'll take red first, then moving to Drag.
