Coughing

Originally invented by Aaron Cofing when he tried to exhale twice at the same time. Because he didn't want to name it directly after his last name, He decided to add random letters into the mix to make it sound French so that people at his school wouldn't associate it with him at the time. However after 9 years of the fad becoming larger and larger he admitted to being the inventor of Coughing, To which he was laughed out of the room.

Kyle: Man I just won't stop Coughing.
Bryce: Have you tried Cough Syrup?
Kyle: No I haven't.
Bryce: Are you going to?
Kyle: No.

cough break

It's a cliche that defense lawyers signal their testifying clients they are giving a bad answer by coughing.

It's so common that judges will warn defense lawyers about a cough break.

Donald Trump's chief of staff Mick Mulvaney used a cough break to signal Trump "hey, shut up about possibly releasing your tax returns."
