ruralite

Person who insists that they live in "the country" even thought they really just live in the suburbs or a satellite city. Usually in gated communities filled with 1/2 million dollar homes stacked right on top of one another. They typically drive the largest SUV's and behave the most obnoxiously on their cell phones.
They also harbor great disdain for the "inner-city" and it's "inner-city folks" because everybody knows that's where all the liberals, queers, criminals, and minorities live.
(Not to be confused with true country folks who do not possess the big house, SUV, or inflated sense of self worth)

Better leave work early if you want to beat the stampeed of ruralites on their way back out into the 'wilderness'.

Ruralsexual

A Ruralsexual is your typically underpaid and overly worked good ol' boy, who would most often be found during his time off, sitting around in his skid marked briefs with his hand down the front, groping his manhood, watching sports events or lesbian porn on t.v., eating microwave burritos and drinking budweiser beer. Traditionally speaking, Ruralsexuals have nacho-cheese stained fingers and dorito crumbs stuck in their chest hairs and navels and to occasionally confirm to all bearing witness that they are still 100% male, Ruralsexuals are likely to take a quick sniff of their previously occupied hands to see if it's the nacho cheese or the duck butter beneath their ball sac that smells so ripe. Ruralsexuals love to have sex with women only and do not like sissy boys, metrosexuals or any guy that is even somewhat limp-wristed.

"Married with Children's" Al Bundy, would be considered the Founding Father of all Ruralsexuals. Heck, he's their poster child!

CoCo (Rural)

ˈ/kōkō/, noun: abbreviated form of the term 'Cowboy Compensation'.

A state of dress, vehicle, thick-soled boot, or other material good that counterbalances/makes up for an inadequate sense of masculinity in the rural community.

Inidividuals whom take this to an excessive-level are often known as CoCo Puffs.

Not to be confused with the urban usage of Coco, representing cocaine

Coco (Rural):

Brady lives in the Midwest and spends his life-savings on a large truck he has no practical use for. Brady does this due to his need for validation as a man. Brady has invested in Coco.

When spending an evening out on the town, Bill exclusively dons cowboy boots with 2"+ heels. He also sports a large belt-buckle, and obnoxious hat. Bill is a proud, 5'7" CoCo Puff.

Tyler is now married and invests in a work truck for use at his home. Tyler does not modify the vehicle. Tyler wears boots when working, and formal shoes downtown. Tyler is smart, and has not involved himself with Coco.

Rural Flight

Rural flight is the phenomenon that occurs in farming communities. As farms have become more mechanized, fewer people are needed to work them. Therefore, the children of farmers often leave for work in cities. Rural flight often depopulates towns to the point that the majority of the residents are elderly.

The Midwest and the Great Plains regions are replete with examples of rural flight. Younger people move away from the farming towns due to a lack of jobs and opportunity. This leaves many of the towns with an aging population.
