ni no kuni

Ni no Kuni is a video game series made by Level 5 and Bandai Namco, with game writer Akihiro Hino. Studio Ghibli helped with cutscenes in Wrath of the White Witch, but didn't in the second game. It's a really good series that deserves more attention.

(also, there's a movie of it coming out in summer 2019 in Japan. No news of a US release :( )

Person 1: I played this game yesterday. It was like playing an anime! The story and characters were great.

Person 1: Yeah! How did you know?

Kunoichi

Simply a female ninja. Examples of some kunoichi's from videogames would be Ayane, Kasumi and Taki. They seem to favour the kunai and wakizashi.

Kanji

A writing system imported from China several centuries ago and still in use today in Japan. Unlike katakana and hiragana, each pictogram does not represent a syllable, but meaning. Two or more kanji can be placed together to form compound words. You can also combine with hiragana.

Books aimed at a younger audience will often have furigana giving the pronunciation for kanji and its compounds.

"I don't know how to pronounce this word because it's written in kanji!"
