desperation mode

Desperation mode is a state in which many unsuccessful Tinder users find themselves in typically on a Friday night, when they once again find themselves alone and without a date. In an attempt to increase their odds on this "matching" app, they basically swipe right or select every single person, regardless of age, appearance or gender. This ultimately increases their overall chances of someone expressing an interest in them, therefore alleviating any feelings of loneliness or rejection. When in "desperation mode," people may exhibit erratic emotions, signs of physical or verbal desperation, sweating and even crying.

Decorational

A combination of the words decoration and ornamental. An ornamental decoration.
Synonymous with the words ornamental and decorative.

Example 1: It is just a weak malleable metal that fuses the wires in the cable to the metal hardware input port to create a connection flow, and normally an engineer designs an external support to hold them together, part of which is that thick plastic area at the end of the cable where it connects to the hardware input unit; which is the device connector and its own external support; but on this shitty Chinese Display Port (DP) cable that was entirely decorational... The actual wire fuse took place in the middle of the box that was supposed to be the hardware input unit, which was actually just decorational as well... It has only the DP connector and not the rest of the device that supports the strength of it, with nothing but copperfoil (10x weaker than tinfoil or paper) wrapped around it and a big plastic shell popped together around the whole thing to make it look like something that was engineered properly from the outside while on the inside being designed at the engineering level I had at 10 years old.

Person 1 says, "The phone case I ordered has gears on it."
Person 2 says, "Wow, are they functional?"
Person 1 says, "No, they're just decorational."

In the game of beer pong, desperation diamond is a type of rerack only used when the player is losing and needs to sink four more cups. The rerack forms the four cups into the shape of a diamond. In most games of beer pong, you can only only rerack once; therefore you are giving up your rerack privileges early. This rerack is desperate but advantageous in certain situations.

You have one cup left on your side. You're opponent has four cups left on his side. You rerack since time is running out and you need the increase your chances of making cups.

You: Ah shit, I'll rerack...

Eric walks into Bill's office and states "Bill, I need you to work up a proposal for the Cincinnati project." Bill says, "OK, can you review this report and print it in color?" As Eric lays 2 folders on Bill's desk, he says, "Sure. And by the way, here is the information you need to finish the Oklahoma project." Bill says, "thank you." and as Eric is leaving Bill's office, Bill zips Eric an email requesting Eric to fill-in for him at this week's seminar. Thus, a delegation duel.
