Borat Alliance

Union or association of countries predominately from the former USSR established to counter NATO. Member countries include Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan with Russia playing the leading role similar to the United States’ role in NATO. This alliance is Russia’s version of NATO.

In response to Western sanctions, Russian president Vladimir Putin convened a meeting with his Borat Alliance to discuss a unified response.
