When promoters talk up a big game to get artists to play for free, when actually they plan on using the profits of the show for their own gain and offer absolutely nothing in return for the artists. See: Bait and Switch
The Promoter said we'd be direct support for a national act when pitching us the gig. But he was just bandtaring. He failed to secure the national act and replaced them with more shitty local bands, charged a cover, and split none of it with the bands. He calls it a "festival" - said it would be good for "exposure".

Get the Banding mug.Banditing *(verb, slang)* — Banditing is the act of unapologetically claiming more than your fair share of food — often sneakily, always greedily. It’s grabbing the last slice you definitely didn’t deserve, stealing fries off someone else’s plate, or “tasting” something until half of it’s gone. A banditer operates on instinct, driven by pure appetite over etiquette.
