In gaming parlance, a choice or strategy that should guarantee victory. The phrase comes from the TV game show Hollywood Squares. Contestants choosing a square which would give them 3 in a row would frequently say something like "I'll take Paul Lynde for the win."

Harry: "We need more dps to get past this boss."
Sally: "Affliction spec for the win!"

On imageboards, when a image post is made, the post can be win or fail, depending on if the image is liked and appropriate for the topic of the board.

This can be made stronger by adding epic before it, as in 'Epic win!'.

"WIN!!!"
"This thread is made of win"
"WIN! DO WANT!"

this is the mantra you repeat endlessly when you have completely screwed up your life. you hope that by the millionth time you've uttered this, on tv, online, to your lawyer, to your exwife, to your meth dealer, to your bosses at cbs that somehow the delusion will become reality.

charley's been on a meth binge screaming, "winning!", i should probably put him in my fantasy death pool team.
