Playing the world's saddest song on the world's smallest violin

A sarcastic saying used when a person tells another person of something mildly unfortunate that has happened to them, sometimes exaggerated in order to gain sympathy. It implies that the person speaking of their misfortune expects someone to come in playing the saddest song in the world on the worlds smallest violin to correspond with the apparent tradgedy of the situation. Sometimes the person saying this will mime playing a small violin, or try and imitate the sound of a violin.

Jade: Hello, how are you?
Laurel: I just stepped in dog poop and my new shoes got ruined and my feet smell like dog poop, and-
Jade: -Shh... hear that? i'm playing the world's saddest song on the world's smallest violin (mimes playing small violin)

Violette, where do I start? This girl may seem quiet at first but when you get to know her she’s so amazing, beautiful, and such a kind soul. She will put others before herself and fake a smile everyday, she also only trust a few people including her best friend. She will hide her emotions until she explodes because she don’t want anyone to know how she truely feels. A Violette will be one of the best people you ever meet and when you do meet her you will never want to lose her. If you’re lucky enough to meet a Violette you better hope you never lose her because she’s never coming back.

Violet Harmon is a fictional character in the show American Horror Story season one and is a depressed teenager who has had a hard life like her fathers affair and her parents split up but she moves into a haunted house with her parents in hope to save their family and meets her boyfriend Tate Langdon who is a ghost and has a frightening past but they fall in love kinda like Romeo and Juliet but when life becomes to hard for Violet she commits suicide and is found by her boyfriend Tate and he tried to save her since she took pills he tried to make her throw them up she threw up some not enough but in the end Violet found out Tates past including that he raped her mother and they're relationship ends with her telling him to "Go away" but even though they broke up they are still a cute couple despite their depressing relationship #Vate

Violet is a caring type. The love to make people happy and making sure everyone is ok is their main priority. They may seem annoying by how much they ask you, but it is because they care about you and are scared to loose you. Their main fear is being let down by someone they love. On the inside, they feel like they don’t get what they give to others back. They are very depressed and anxious. But, they choose to hide it, because they don’t want their friends to know. Overall, they love to be with their friends and family, so, if you know a Violet, make sure to love them back because you may not know what’s happening with them on the inside.
