Howling Fantods

A stage 4 case of the heebie jeebies.

Realizing that, after all this time, as I approach the end of this 981 page novel with 97 pages of footnotes, as much as I have loved every run-on sentence and obscure pharmacological reference I still cannot coherently answer the frequently-asked and painfully-simple airplane-seatmate question "what's it about?" has giving me a serious case of the howling fantods.

Ghost Howl

One of the biggest teases in World of Warcraft, at least as far as low-level Horde is concerned: A beautiful white dire wolf that can't be tamed by hunters and appears to be unusually tough. To be killed on sight by anyone passing through Mulgore, because he does drop a quest item and is really useless for anything else.

If I can't have Ghost Howl for my hunter alt's pet, I will have his pelt for a cape! (Spoken by a druid who later died twice before killing the mutt.)

I saw the hives at Sydney BDO, and again at the metro the following night, and was lucky enough to meet Pelle after the show!! It was the best live gig I have ever seen.

howls moving castle

An incredible movie by Hayo Miyazaki, who also created such films as Spirited Away, Porco Rosso and Princess Mononoke. A visual masterpiece and a beautiful story. Based on the novel by Diana Wynne Jones.

Howl's Moving Castle is a good movie. Everyone should see it, not just the crazy "otaku" kids who live at Atomic Comics reading manga.
