corporate fungus

A seemingly harmless but utterly deadly disease. Characterized by septic infections of chain stores and restaurants over what was once healthy prairie, forest, farmland or wetland on the edge of a city. Causes a swelling of minivans and SUV s and massive hemorrhaging from privately owned small businesses in both city and country. The spread of the fungus is inevitable. It is symbiotic with and related to the housing development.

I'd love to go to that surplus store way out of town, but the whole area has a bad case of the corporate fungus.
