Gentrifarmcation is the process of a more affluent non-resident and/or business using agricultural land to gain a tax advantage. It is a very common and controversial issue in urban politics and planning.
With farmland being prohibitively expensive, it takes substantial financial assets to even start farming. There is nothing illegal about the situation but it is unsettling.
