A "pretend irritable" remark that you eye-twinklingly snap at a fellow townsperson to humorously say, "Hello again" when you happen to bump into him a second time that day. A variation of this tongue-in-cheek greeting is, "We GOTTA quit meeting like this!"

In "Forever Young", Jamie Lee Curtis;s character smilingly quips, "Hey, quit followin' me!" to Mel Gibson's character on a couple of occasions when she happens upon him while he's merely sitting/lying quietly by himself.

A verb to describe a person who decides to hangout with their significant other instead of their friend group. Mostly do it when they share the same day and/or time of when his or her friend group are suppose to meet up.

The guy was quitting on the sleepover with his bros since he decided to go with girlfriend to the mall.

Stage Quit

Derived from the term “rage quitting”, stage quitting is when someone exits a situation angrily but it is actually just an act and they are not really mad. Stage quitting can take the form of an ironic rage quit for banter, or just simply be done as a cry for attention.

1) Cal was getting dragged in the group chat so he left. He was only pretending to be annoyed though, it was just a stage quit.

2) Lucy was getting bored so she stage quit the group chat for some attention.
