Emo

A subculture consisting of 14-19 year old teens (usually girls) Who constantly whine and complain about everything. Those who dont are very rare. The typical "emo" kid has MySpace, Tumblr, Instagram, and a Facebook and are always whining and obsessing over bands.

Bands they like are Black Veil Brides, Blood On The Dance Floor (Though half of the time they hate this band), Bring Me The Horizon (Sempiternal only), Memphis May Fire, Asking Alexandria, Suicide Silence (mainly only The Black Crown), Saywecanfly, Falling in Reverse, I See Stars, We Came as Romans, etc. Most of these bands they only know the singer and do not care about anything else other than "Omg thes singer ish s0000 hawt!!!" They own band merch, but lack to own the album itself mostly. They also act like they know who Nirvana is, but do not know who Dave Grohl or Krist Novoselic is. They never know anything about music usually.

The typical emo kid wears:
Skinny jeans (tight enough to take 1000 years to get off)
those giant bracelets
a shirt of one of the bands I mentioned above
piercings
painted nails
multi-colored hair (or a really wacky color)
eyeliner
giant boots or Converse All Stars
neclaces
straight hair
a really flashy belt
really long hair

Most of them are really into attention, although there are some who arent. Most of them will cut to get likes on facebook, act desperate for love, whine on their tumblr page all the time, and any other way that you can get attention.

A Emo Punks's style is:

1) A mix of the Emo and Punk fashion: plaid bondage pants, combat\biker boots, spiked bracelets, ripped clothes typical to punk and
black\gray clothes, skinny/ripped jeans, Converse shoes, band bracelets typical to emo
2) Makeup ( not necessary )

3) Nail-polish ( not necessary )

4) Liberty Spikes with or without long bangs, Prison Bar Haircut, Chelsea Hawk, any colored or natural hair

5) D.I.Y

Attitude:

1) Have ironic humor
2) Be political
3) Be artistic, as both punks and emo are artistic people

4) Express yourself through music, as both punks and emo do
5) Mosh and fight! - since you're half punk, you can mosh or fight whenever you want, as you have to stand up for what is yours

6) Be ironic!
7) Never be too serious
8) Write poetry or song lyrics, as you're half emo
9) Be yourself and don't sell-out
10) Don't take others opinions
11) Be against mainstream

emo is well, many things from many different points a view so thing they are just "fags" who dress weird. some look at the root of the word emo emotive hardcore/emocore, a type pf music. some branch off from the root of the word emo, they see it as a way to dress which came from the "emo" bands and their fans way of dressing. their there are those who see it as people who cut themselves or hurt themselves in some way. then there the people on the other side of this, the people who preform the music, dress in tight clothing and band t-shirts, and the people with emotional problem of some sort. the band just are taking advantage of the new emo crowds growth. the people who dress emo see it as fashion or a way to express themselves. the people with emotional problems vary widely from have a self esteem issues depression personality disorders excreta. these are often caused by people judge them in some way, no matter how lard the judgment was.
