A subcategory of Murphy's Law that states: When interacting with a group of individuals, circumstances will unfold such that a sufferer of Holmberg's Law is never paired with attractive members of the opposite sex.
Steven - Man, last night there were six hot ladies and one guy, and I got paired up with the guy.
Dale - That sucks. Holmberg's Law, dude.

This is a corollary of Godwin's Law which states that if an online discussion about rock music goes on long enough, sooner or later someone will compare some band or performer or a situation to Roger Waters, Peter Gilmoure and Nick Mason and the acrimonious breakup of Pink Floyd, the point at which effectively the discussion or thread often ends.
Ian "Panic! at the Disco are now just Brendon Urie's solo project."
Shane "Just like Pink Floyd after Roger Waters left, it was nothing but David Gilmour's ego trip."
Ian "Malone's Law! this conversation is OVER!"

Every traffic light must be red.
Every luck event must fail.
Every plan will be ruined.
Everything will go wrong.
(however, purely skill based events are excluded)

On the way to an amusement park, get stuck in traffic for over an hour, arrive at the park and wait in line to find the coaster is broken. Four times. Then lock belongings in locker and have a town-wide power outage.

"The vessel, or vehicle with the greatest gross tonnage has the right of way."
Based in part on the navigation rule about ships restricted in ability to maneuver and how other ships need to stay away. And the reality of if there is a collision between two or more vehicles the smaller vehicles will take more damage than the larger vehicles. And that greater amount of damage is shared with the occupants of the smaller vehicle.

Smart car v. F-350 crew cab pickup. Pickup driver is shook up and possibly bruised from the airbag, they can walk away. Smart car driver is in the ambulance on the way to the hospital with multiple fractures and or internal injuries. Moral of the story, violating the tonnage law will end up in pain & suffering. Even though you may have the right to be where you are, the right will not protect you from harm.

Rule of Law - One set of laws applied equally to All Citizens without regard To wealth, status or government office
by Don Mashak-The Cynical Patriot May 9, 2019

Apparently this term originated from a website called RPG.net and from a user that is now banned, Danth. Danth claimed to have won a forum argument, and someone else later said in that forum that, "If you have to insist that you have won an internet argument, you probably haven't."
