A spelling variation of the word pile. It helps when the 'eye' is capitalized as in: pEYEle, or descrEYEbe, etc. The EYE can be substituted for pretty much any word that contains a long 'i' sound.

Prayer brake

The sudden merge to the far right lane and slowing from 90 down to 50mph after realizing you've just flown by a policeman. Normally done in the hope that the policeman didn't clock you as you went by and that you won't get a ticket.

Hey - take a prayer brake - you just flew by a cop with his radar out.

To put in a defence before you have been accused of something.

Often a sign of guilt regarding the thing for which you are being accused.

I knew Person A would tell Person B about (incident for which you are to blame), so I text Person B in advance to predefend myself.
