A douche-bag that listens to crappy music that nobody else likes.
Indie douche-bags often think they know more about music than the average person thus making them cooler. Both facts are usually incorrect.

Indie Girl

There is a way to be an indie girl. You're listening to music almost 24/7, you get clothes from mainly vintage shops, Urban Outfitters, and American Apparel. They're usually really skinny, and most are vegetarians/vegans. Bands like Fleet Foxes appeal to indie girls. And all are adorable! They like the earth, too.

Indie is awesome. Indie girls are cool.

Indie fag

When you’re an Indie fag all you do in life is try desperately to become as indie as you can be. Your whole presence is influenced by the one and only god ‘Pete Doherty’ and you’re all sooo unique even though it’s hard to tell you all apart? You also have to make sure you own some inanimate object, such as a hill.

Indie Music

Original meaning: Any music that produced and released by independent bands or independent record labels, and consumed by adolescent and adults under 35 yro. Most of such music are produced with a low to moderate budget.

Modern meaning: bands with <100k likes on facebook and not on any major labels. music they produced and released is considered "indie". But some of these bands are signed to subsidiaries of major labels, ie. Interscope, subpop...etc. In that sense, they shouldn't be considered "indie", rather major label artists with an "indie" aesthetic preference for marketing purposes.

indie

Music of bands on independent labels. It is often mistaken as emo however, indie music is just better than emo music at so many levels and in so many ways. The lyrics are meaningful, clever and the tunes are generally pleasent and clever for the ears too as opposed to the fakely depressing, nasal-sounding moanings and whinings which emos call music. I'd say all emos should just go kill themselves because they obviously have no knowledge of music.

Cool Kid "Oh yeah, what's the name of that song by that indie band My Chemical Romance?"

Indie Kid (-thinks "fuck off and die"-) says "fuck off and get some musical knowledge. And grow some charisma and perhaps some sticky outy ears while you're at it. But you're not smart enough to do all those things so you might as well just die."

Her username is a joke, supposedly a play on the term "indie rocker" and also a homage to a cat she had named Focker.

indieviduals

Indieviduals are what I have started to call all of the hipster kids these days that are anything but individual. Most of them go out to see movies like "Juno" because they think that it is an independent film, which will earn them indie cred. However, they buy into movies and music like that, which are funded by major production companies, making them completely mainstream. These kids go to websites (completely mainstream ones) to buy their "indie" clothes and find out exactly what music their "indie" cult is listening to that week. It is absolutely pathetic to me that any person can throw on a peacoat and a messenger bag, pop the spill canvas into their cd player, drink some 20-word long coffee drink, and call themselves and individual. I think that these days, any kid who just wears their old navy basics and listens to music like the police and the rolling stones is an individual just because they don't buy in to all of that crap that mainstream labels have labeled "INDIE."

Indievidual #1: What are you planning on doing today? I think I'll just read my super alternative copy of Nylon.

Indievidual #2: I'll probably just keep sipping on my grande soy non-fat decaf columbian latte with three pumps of passionfruit sweetening syrup and then catch a matinee of Juno, then listen to dropkick murphys, since they're super indie, you probably haven't heard of them, though

Indievidual#1: (while totally lying) Oh, I have, they're really good.
