Internet Sigh

A comment written in one’s status box (e.g. MySpace, Facebook or other similar social networking web sites), or other publicly visible area to generate sympathy, attention and/or reaction from one’s internet friends. The statement must be vague, yet rife with emotion (see also, Emo) in order to generate the appropriate level of attention or sympathy.

Examples of Internet Sighs, include, but are not limited to:

• “Sometimes I wonder if it’s worth it?”,

• “That’s it, I give up!!!”,

• “Does (s)he think I’m stupid???”,

• “I hate (wo)men”

Note that the use of three exclamation points or question marks indicates the need for an immediate response. Repeating similar comments will continue until one gets the desired response.

Internet Trip

When you go on the internet with the intent of only doing one task, and end up hoping from one page to another, until you finaly realise an hour has gone by and you havnt done the task you orignaly set out to do.

Internet self

A term describing the sum of one's internet activities, including facebook and twitter profiles, forum activity, instant message conversations, websites run, etc. The term is meant in contrast to the rest of one's life in the real world.

My internet self is such a dick to this girl... i'd be way nicer to her in real life.

Internet Consensus

A subject that is of general and mutual agreement among the majority of internet users. This subject will typically spark little to no controversy when an opinion pertaining to it is discussed. When a disagreement arises in relation to the Internet Consensus it is usually disputed by someone who is wrong. Because it is widely accepted as a fact it thus becomes a fact.

1: Firefly is the greatest work of television of all time.

internal assessment

The internal assessment, also known more commonly as the IA is a part of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. Taking the form of an extremely long essay, or in depth lab, the internal assessments need to be done for each of the students 7 core subjects.

IB Student 1: Dude the Biology internal assessment is due tomorrow I haven't even started....
IB Student 2: I have to write both my Biology IA and History IA by next month. Kill me now

IB Student 1: I think this is a good time for us to drop out of IB.
