Closing effect

A slight feeling of asphyxiation as the air in the room is drawn into people's clenching bum holes.

The closing effect caused the world to hold its breath in anticipation as the votes were cast. Fear struck and bum holes winked when the realisation that what could be, could be.

the bell effect

When a past hookup continuously pops up in your life no matter how much time has time past. If you say their name 3 times they will appear sometime in the near future. You will never escape them, even on your wedding day. They will always be there.

Me: You'll never believe who just added me on snapchat after 3 years of silence
Friend: Weren't we just talking about him the other day?

Me: I knew we shouldn't have said his name! it's the bell effect!

the buffalo effect

Is when one buffalo leaves his smaller hunting pack in order to search for other dominant buffalo to create a super pack. Usually a lengthy process, this super pack works in together to achieve a common goal of supremacy of all other species in nearby land. Typically, the one buffalo who starts the super pack will more likely sacrifice himself to save the others from elimination.

When you see something that you have never seen before before your own eyes while awake but you know you've seen it sub-consciously in a dream or in sleep at a previous time and you say "That was the Buffalo effect" or when one person starts up a new way of conducting business & looks for others who are up to their superior level to start their own super-pack or society of alike business people to conduct affairs with. This is often a brutal journey with scores of smaller weaker buffalo left along the way.

smurfette effect

Stereotypical situation when a new girl joins a group, class, etc. And most guys in the group immediately tries to impress her, hit on her, get to know her, etc.

Taken from the comic The Smurfs where Smurfette moves to the male dominant city of the smurfs and all the smurfs there immediately tries to be with her.

- There was this new girl in class and every guy wanted to be with her!

- Oh, the smurfette effect!

The Anna Nicole Smith Effect

A modern variation of The Jesus Effect, wherein the majority of people dont care about someone or even like the person(and often disliking them) until they die and then they do a 180 by now worshipping the deceased person and speaking highly of them. They will often go on about how good the person was and act like they didnt dislike/hate/not care about the person the day before they were dead.

A more recent variant of this is "The Harambe Effect"

"Harambe deserved a chance, but they killed him in cold blood."
"This is the Anna Nicole Smith Effect all over again, you didnt care about that monkey but now it dies and youre all about apes rights... Hokay."
