Batman zone typically means that the character takes up 1/3 of the screen so that only 2/3 are actually visible to the player. Batman zone was invented in the video "Bad graphics" by Videogamedunkey. The name comes from Rocksteady's Batman Arkham games when Batman is walking around and not in combat.
