a person who is a hipster simply because everyone else is therefore contradicting themselves.
Person 1: "I want to be a hipster like everyone else!"
Person 2: "Sounds like a Paradoxial Hipster!"

mall hipster

see mallgoth/mall goth

obnoxious, rich teenage girls who blindly follow the hipster trend, thinking they're incredibly original. they listen to grouplove, one direction, lana del rey, the smiths, young the giant, and walk the moon. they can easily be spotted by long, straightened hair, a nose piercing, an iphone 4s, and an urban outfitters top that says "free spirit" or something.
person a: omg look at those mallgoths what is this, 2004?
person b: not half as bad as those mall hipsters

northwoods hipster

A hipster that prefers flannel or some type of long-sleeved overshirt with a "lumberjack" or tartan design, has a beard and "nerdy" black glasses, is probably tattooed, and who has extensive knowledge of single-speed bicycles. A blend between a hipster and a dirtster; more the former than the latter. The northwoods hipster is quite popular in Minneapolis, MN. They are typically spotted at organic foods stores such as Whole Foods.

Serpaco Hipster

A Hipster who has gone so far down the rabbit hole he/she can't tell if they are being ironic anymore.

Defined by the Gentlemen Scumbags podcasts hosts Mike Burns, Mike Bridenstine and guest Kyle Kinane.
That Serpaco Hipster can't tell if he likes wearing those cartoon sunglasses and doing the chaleston, but he's in too deep to stop.

Gary's gone Serpaco Hipster on us, he's trying to bring back oversized dumbells and full body bathing suits.

alt-hipster

A hipster whose image (appearance, musical taste, choice in foods) is defined by how little they adhere to typical hipster norms at any given time. Often, an alt-hipster runs two or three trends behind the hipster trends in an effort to show that they weren't really noticing what was going on and just now realized this was cool when finding last year's finds in the bargain bin at Salvation Army and hearing this music on Amazon Prime.
Q: What should I wear to this thing?
A: You're an alt-hipster; whatever the fuck you want.

Hipsters

Such people are the true "cool cats" of the world. They're those "in the know", ahead of the norm. They're not of the mainstream. They be eternal beatniks! (And certainly not hippies). Yes, they're people who are-- or at least consider themselves to be-- "hip", as in "hip to the jive". Older hip hipsters will of course always look down on latter-day versions, those (younger) folks who think themselves to be hipsters simply because, for instance, they're able to exhibit a little facial peach-fuzz and have a taste for some generic pop music that they've deemed to be, umm, "non-corporate". Hah!
Hipsters, flipsters,
and finger-poppin' daddies:
Knock me your lobes.

This bit of hipsterism was written by "Lord Buckley" (Richard 'Lord' Buckley'), who was a singular, amazingly influencial (Caucasian!) comic genius that looked a little like Salvador Dali, affected a British accent, dressed in a tux and was best known as one who performed hipster interpretations/translations of well-known dramatic scenes and notable speeches.

The above quote comes from Lord Buckley's version of the very beginning of Mark Anthony's funeral oration in Shakespeare's Julius Caesar:

Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears;
I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him.
The evil that men do lives after them;
The good is oft interred with their bones...

hipster-groupie

A "hipster-groupie" is a sole individual that lives, eats, and breathes the "hipster" style of life. Extensive research has shown that it is usually an employer/employee relationship, with said employer typically failing to understand meaning of "work-place boundaries." "Hipster groupies" can also be identified as the more casual, street-slang term "Buddy Holly fanatics." Between the two titles, it comes down to whichever you'd prefer to include in your colloquial.
