( people) in general need to be taught and shown the worth of basic decency and respect for others of their kin. It manifests in each individual differently. This phenomenon I would refer to as 'being a shitebag' is applicable to anyone, even and especially the best of us. So long as we remain aware of, and understand the implications of shitebagginess, we might all remember to quit being a c**t every now and then.

I asked my wife to stop eating so much salad due to the rings in the toilet from shitentary settlement.
My shitentary lifestyle requires me to work from home most days.
