digital literacy corps

The "digital literacy corps" is an initiative to increase digital inclusion, reduce the digital divide, and to increase broadband adoption via the use of teams of volunteers to work with population groups that have lower broadband adoption rates, teaching them "digital literacy."

In 2003, Net Literacy's team of student volunteers created a digital literacy corps that helped teach senior citizens, the disabled, and families with lower incomes, among others, how to use a computer and the Internet and identify their own personal broadband value propositon to help increase broadband adoption rates.

Literate kid

Someone on the internet who uses perfect grammar when they talk; Usually thinks highly of themselves. Most literate kids only talk to other literate kids, and see anyone else as stupid.

boy1 : hey u know were i can find sum free music?
boy2 : Ew, ever heard of a thing called grammar? You should try it sometime.
boy1 : cn u just tell me were i can get free music??
boy2 : Yeah, when you start typing so I can understand you. Dictionary.com, retard.

literateur

One who is almost obnoxiously acquainted with literature, and frequently reminds others of this fact.

A 'literateur' would immediately recognize the Dickensian reference if one wrote the word "humble" as "'umble", and would make damn sure you knew he/she knew you knew.

Literally

A word with very limited application in the English language that is nonetheless used extensively by millennials, and also by middle-aged hipster liberals, in attempts to sound smart and well-informed. The word is needlessly inserted into may statements, and is used gratuitously and/or incorrectly.

Chick I met at an anti-Trump rally: "I am literally so angry about the government shut down."
Me: "Literally? You were literally mad? You were afraid I would think you meant you were 'angry' figuratively?"

Same chick:"Oh my god, that was so funny I literally pissed myself!"
Me: "Um...are you sure?"
