The Asing Effect

When the Dunning-Kruger Effect is insufficient in describing the boundless depths of the sufferer's ineptitude.
Adam believes the Earth is flat and due to his raging case of the Asing Effect, he believes he can win any debate on the subject against field-leading astronomers. Don't be like Adam. It's ok to admit when you have no expertise or even knowledge of a subject.

The Emil effect

The Emil effect; where one is hanging around Emil and enters a huge depressive episode, or their mental health gets worse, just from simply being around him. Anyone can be an Emil, so be careful as they are very draining people.
Jake: “The Emil effect is everywhere
Chris: “What’s the Emil effect?”
Jake: “The Emil effect is where hanging round a certain person makes your mental health worse”

Carreon Effect

The ridicule and scorn caused by a legal threat intended to suppress information.

Named after Charles Carreon, a self-proclaimed "Internet lawyer" who came to Internet infamy by attempting to silence Matthew Inman a.k.a The Oatmeal who had spoken out over another website's copyright infringement and their refusal to take down the infringing material. The complaint led to a charity fundraiser (which Carreon also tried to shut down, without success) and several Internet denizens attacking him via email and phone and hacking his website. Carreon eventually filed a motion of dismissal, ending the case.

Not to be confused with the Streisand Effect.
Whoa, that lawyer totally felt the Carreon Effect when he tried to silence that blogger who complained about his posts being copy pasted.

Tribble Effect

A phenomenon that occurs when in Star Trek Online, someone pets their tribble, and others nearby proceed to follow suit.
I went into a crowded space, and petted my tribble. Nearly everyone else nearby who had a tribble petted theirs, as well. Thus, the Tribble Effect.

Skyrim Effect

When a sequel gets so much hype and publicity the majority of newcomers to the series are casual fans who know nothing of the past games/movies in the series.
So when is Skyrim 2 coming out?

Skyrim is actually part five in the series excluding the additional games. Take it you never heard of Oblivion either. Classic example of the Skyrim Effect.
