money mule

A person that (most of the time) unwillingly takes part in money laundering. It is illegal even if you only take part.

Example 1:
Somebody transfers 10k on your bank account, telling you to keep 10% and transfer the rest on another account

Example 2:
You get a text message on your phone: „Rate these hotels and make 5000$ in an hour“

This COULD be money laundering and clickbait, due to the fact you‘ll get the cash but can only keep 10% for example and transfer the rest.

This makes you a money mule.

What if I keep it?
If you keep the money and dont transfer it to another account many things could happen:
A: You‘ll get flagged as suspicious and your bank account will freeze + legal problems
B: The people that you got the money from threaten you, or report you as suspicious

Mortgage Mule

When a man or woman pays the mortgage for the family, finds out the spouse or significant other has cheated, and they feel like a mule, having worked, and gotten no respect for keeping the roof overhead.

He felt like a Mortgage Mule. He worked for years to keep his family safe, and in the end, found out his wife cheated. He felt used, and taken advantage of.

In the brony fandom, “mule” is a derogatory term used to refer to a member who is equally or more involved in other communities, especially rival groups like furries and weebs. This often demonstrates a lack of loyalty or understanding of pony identity.
The term is derived from the fact that mules are sterile offspring of a horse and a donkey, and even in MLP:FiM has been used in a pejorative way.
Not all bronies and pegasisters with separate interests and hobbies are considered mules, as long as these do not conflict with the customs, ideals, and purposes of the herd.

How are we supposed to consolidate as a strong and committed community with so many mules these days?
