Deranker

A deranker is a player who loses games on purpose. Most derankers are smurfs who derank on a second account so they don't affect their main rank. Other derankers are trolls who enjoy the suffering of others.

Some games, like Counter Strike: Global Offensive, or League of Legends, prevent higher ranked players from playing with lower ranked friends. So if you want to play with your lower ranked friend, you need to derank.

It is debated where derankers are acceptable or if they are just scum. Regardless, they are a type of people you need to learn how to deal with in multiplayer games.

Player 2: Why did you team kill me?
Player 1: Because I'm a deranker.
Player 2: ....... fuck you...
