[Ego-gasms]

Ego-gasms, the joy and euphoria produced from the dopamine hit from self validation, as portrayed by Tom Hanks after making fire in the movie Castaway. Soccer stars often display such feelings of elation after kicking a goal.

Sadly, such feelings of joy over self validation run both positively and negatively and include acts of self validation by invalidating others , bullying. The APA's DSM V lists "gratification" in the traits for "Antisocial Personality Disorder".

I had ego-gasms for a week after getting an article published.
Bullying is an addiction to ego-gasms from harming others, all forms of abuse are simply tools.

When a person makes an obviously selfish decision, or when a person lets their ego get in the way of doing the right thing.

That's so ego impaired when coach moved practice to 6am because he wants to go out for breakfast.
