Often used in a somewhat derogatory way to describe healing based on flaky science for gullible people.

After spending thousands of dollars and many months going to a fish-slapper, i finally went to a real doctor and the problem was fixed within days.

JC Slapper refers to the Welsh Light Heavyweight boxer, Joe Calzaghe.

JC refers to Joe Calzaghe's initials while Slapper describes his style of fighting. Instead of throwing punches like a man with a closed fist he "slaps" while apparently effective, it still makes him a pussy.

JC Slapper, while holding a record of 46-0, his record is highly padded and very protected.
