Intellectual Compatibility

You knew I would have something to say about it right there didn't. That exact spot 😁 Now... I could make a jab and say "Well, maybe they're overestimating their intellectual capacity but I think that would be low hanging fruit. I think it's more interesting to say that the disparity is to great that I genuinely can't tell the difference between any of you.

Right? They're mostly proponents of multiple intelligences theory or rely on field expertise or education. But to use education as a metric for intelligence you have to presuppose that the people who have taken the course would have done better than the people who hadn't, had the latter people taken the course (Which you WOULD but only because my staggering brilliance would embarrass the professor and he would sabotage me out of spite). Expertise is meaningless if the conclusion drawn by way of your expertise is wrong. And multiple intelligences is just 'expertise' and 'education' and 'emotional intelligence (which isn't real)' and 'creativity' as, like, a plurality of ways in which a person can be considered 'intelligent.' So, there's that."

A person who posts grossly misinformed, disingenuous, or flat out deceptive shit on TikTok about politics or science and smugly and delusionally acts as though they are experts on the subject.

Intellectual Brazilian

"Intellectual Brazilian” (Dr Urie Bezuidenhout, 2023), this phrase is used in a debate between scholars or specialists where one of them takes a disingenuous stance, despite credible evidence presented in the discussion. The other person then rebukes them, piece by piece, for their indefensible and dogmatic position, almost like exacting death by a thousand cuts. The analogy to a Brazilian wax is that, just like a Brazilian is intended to make the person look good, it is preceded by a painful experience when successive wax strips are ripped off sensitive areas of the recipient's skin. Instead of admitting that they were wrong earlier, they have their argument painfully dismantled in small pieces by the person exacting the "Intellectual Brazilian." The primary aim of this phrase is to maintain a recipient with some dignity at the end, which is considerably better than receiving an intellectual death by a thousand cuts.

The author that doggedly dismissed evidence to the contrary, was given an Intellectual Brazilian over multiple days by an expert in a terse and almost-humiliating fashion.

A person who usually lives in a safe, liberal bubble who believes you can run the world as if it's a club designed to keep out poor people. They generally take edge case, nuanced scenarios, or things that can only be done in high trust systems and try to apply them to every situation.
