The act of applying to a prestigious university with a low acceptance rate (such as Harvard or Yale) without additionally applying to a designated "safety school" or having a back-up plan in case the chosen school does not accept the applicant-- similarly to the Hail Mary play in football.

"So what schools are you applying to?"
- "Just Princeton, yolo man..."
"What about your safety school man, that place has like a 10% acceptance rate!"
- "Nah man, I'm pulling a Yale Mary!"

Yale Law School

The most prestigious law school in America and perhaps even the world. Yale Law School has been consistently ranked the best law school in the country for the past thirty some years and is well revered for its immensely successful and notable alumni, all of whom are perhaps colloquially regarded as the best of the best lawyers in America. Yale Law School is also considered the most difficult law school to get into with an acceptance rate usually hovering at around 9%.

Yale Loop

Yale Loop is a continuous loop of a street (hence the name) and is located in Irvine, California in the township of Woodbridge. In early years, The loop was surrounded by an abundance of Orange Groves. To this day no Orange Groves are visible from the Yale Loop. It is a major street connecting houses, shopping centers, and the famous North and South Lakes of Woodbridge. Both lakes have a pedestrian bridge, made out of wood, hence the name.

Samantha: Hey are you going to go jogging with my on East Yale Loop?
Cindy: No Samantha, I told you, I'm jogging today with Ryan in Santa Margarita.

Yale bait

A hot girl you meet or hook up with while touring or visiting a prestigious academic school and end up going to that school because you believe (mistakenly) that most girls there look/act like her.

*On a campus tour of Cornell*

Guy 1: "Dude this tour guide is hot, I am totally going here."

Guy 2: "Don't be fooled, she's just Yale bait, girls here are a 5 on average."
