subculture

It is a word made up by goths to describe their movement. It is basically a word used to describe a popculture movement that isn't 'popular' any more but still has a following.

I really liked Goth stuff when it was popular and still do, but instead of thinking for myself and accruing music and styles from a wide range of influences, I'm going to conform to the Goth Subculture.

Subcontractor Estimating

The practice of project cost estimation based on the weight and/or thickness of the construction plans not on content. Also acompanied by the phrase: "What spec. book?"
This term transponds all fields of construction.

Estimator 1: Looks like the plans weigh 10 pounds.
Estimator 2: Alright based on subcontractor estimating this one will cost 1 Million. Send in the bid.
Estimator 1: What about the spec. book?
Estimator 2: What spec. book? Just send it in already!

A category of people who live in the township of a rural area. They are not the people who own land or farm animals but are also not "urban" people. City dwellers would tell them they are country but they are not country.

Jimmy is subcountry because he lives in town, only helps during haying season.
