People who can't accept their feelings of admiration towards someone so they resort to shady tactics to keep up with their guilty pleasure. A play on words derived from fandom and phantom that is used to describe the uncomfortable situation of liking someone but not being able to express it in a healthy way.

A closeted fan is part of the phandom.
