Mingle

1. A way to meet new people.
2. A hybrid between networking and hooking up.

*When you mingle you are meeting people of the same or opposite sex to either become a work contact, end up in a relationship with, or just say that you met them (and have a future place to stay when in the area for the night).

*If you remember to go into a mingle situation with an open mind, and not instantly decide if they're going to be a hookup that night, for example, you will have a better time actually meeting them.

*Who mingles? Mostly women and gay men.

mingler

A member of a social atmosphere without a particular group. A mingler simply wanders from group to group. He or she may be friends with jocks as well as nerds, goths as well as preps. The enmity between the groups which he or she befriends themselves do not concern a mingler. They are society's neutrals, and generally very outgoing with an individual sense of style.

Everybody knows a minglers name, and so they make for good conversation between "enemies". In a more confined social setting, in which people are divided physically into groups, a mingler often alternates positions. They might hang with the rockers one moment and help nerds with their homework the next. Often their skills are very diverce.

An individual or group of individuals enter your space and begin to talk about random things They pile on story after story as a distraction which causes you to loose track of time. Once the time of productivity has passed the "Mingle Muncher" will begin their exit which has strategically been designed to maintain their intentions and anonymity.

"Fred had a list of errands to complete but the Mingle Muncher talked so much that he lost track of time causing yet another day of unproductiveness".
